Message to the International Seminar on an Oil Embargo Against South Africa

“The time is overdue for the world to stop oiling the apartheid system.” – Dr. Salim, March 14, 1980

This message was sent by Dr. Salim President to an international seminar held in Amsterdam in March 1980 addressing the implementation of an oil embargo against apartheid South Africa. 

In his remarks, Dr. Salim emphasized the strategic importance of oil in sustaining the apartheid system and called on the international community to intensify sanctions and ensure the effective implementation of an embargo. He argued that denying oil supplies to South Africa was essential to increasing international pressure on the apartheid regime and advancing the struggle for freedom and human dignity in southern Africa.
