“Changing the present world order towards the direction of justice and equity cannot be accomplished at one single conference.” – Dr. Salim, January 21, 1980
This message was sent by Dr. Salim to the Third General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held in New Delhi in January 1980. In his remarks, he highlighted the significant imbalance in industrial production between developed and developing countries and stressed the importance of industrialization as a foundation for economic development and poverty reduction.
