Attending the 30th Anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution

"At 1100 hours I left Addis Ababa for Dar es Salaam by Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET 821 (Boeing 767). I am going to Tanzania at the invitation of President Mwinyi of Tanzania and the Zanzibar Revolutionary Government to attend the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution. The climax of the celebrations is on January 12th. Thirty years ago on that day the Sultan of Zanzibar, Jamsyd bin Abdalla was overthrown in a bloody revolt. I am accompanied in this trip by my deputy Director of Cabinet, Ambassador M.T.
