Dr. Salim Receives Condolence Note from Benjamin Mkapa

This handwritten note was sent by Benjamin Mkapa, then Minister for Foreign Affairs of Tanzania, together with his wife Anna Mkapa, expressing condolences to Dr. Salim and his family following the passing of Dr. Salim’s father in January 1988. 

Written on the Minister’s official stationery, the message conveys their regret at being unable to attend the funeral and extends their sympathy during the family’s period of mourning. 

Dr. Salim later replied in a letter dated 1 February 1988, expressing appreciation on behalf of himself, his wife Anne, and their family for the kindness and thoughtfulness shown during that difficult time.
