Opening Remarks at Symposium on the Great Lakes Region

"Another significance of this symposium is that the question of the Great Lakes bears special attachment to the Mwalimu Nyerere Foundation. It may be recalled that towards the end of his life, Mwalimu had devoted all his energies in contributing towards bringing about sustainable peace and stability in the region.
