Lecture on the OAU: Past, Present and Future

Dr. Salim gives a lecture on the OAU to the National Defense College in Nairobi. He covered the reasons for the establishment of the organization, the period of conflict resolution and what the future should be:

"The OAU cannot afford to continue to function as a bureaucratic institution. The Organization has to adapt to the changing situation. There is need for the OAU to get closer to the people and work with the people. The OAU should put the people at the centre of its efforts.
