While in India, Dr. Salim saw the birth of his second son, Ali Salim which made India even more of a special home for him. He would also witness the great potential of the Indian economy, paying visits to the jeep assembly plant in Bombay; visiting the Hindustan machine tools factory as well as the India telephone factories.
