Correspondence to Joaquim Chissano on Mozambique Independence Celebrations

Mozambique gained independence from the Portugal on June 25, 1975. Tanzania, a long with a number of Frontline States, was a key ally in the independence fight for Mozambique. Both Samora Machel and Joaquim Chissano were close friends and allies of Tanzania and Dr. Salim. As Chairman of the Committee on 24 and a friend of Mozambique, Dr. Salim was invited to attend the first independence day celebrations for Mozambique.
