Mo Ibrahim Foundation

Dr. Salim joined his good friend Mo Ibrahim on a quest to promote good governance and effective leadership in Africa. He initially served on the Board of the Foundation and thereafter Chair of the Prize Committee between 2011 - 2019. During his tenure as Chair of the Prize Committee, the Foundation awarded three African presidents the Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership. These include: President Pedro Verona Pires of Cape Verde; President Hifikepunye Pohamba of Namibia; and President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia.
