In 1969, Dr. Salim made a few trips to North Korea, including presenting his credentials to President Choi Yong Kou in Pyonyang, also visiting Panmunjom - a border town between North and South Korea. This is where the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement was signed - both Dr. Salim and his wife Amne visited the building where the armistice was signed.
