On August 18, 1993, Dr. Salim arrived in Ghana for a special occasion: the launch of the Pan-African Writers Association (PAWA) Endowment Fund.

But his visit was more than ceremonial. While in Accra, he sat down with David Ampofo, the sharp and inquisitive host of Searchlight, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation's flagship current affairs program.

In this segment Dr. Salim explains to Mr. Ampofo that Africans cannot be indifferent to the suffering of other Africans.
